In addition to checking the Protection Class for each home, insurance companies also look at a Fire Line report.
Fire Line reports are run based on the address of your home. In this report, your home will be rated from “Negligible” to “Extreme”.
When your home is rated as Negligible, there is no fire risk that is being reported to the insurance and when a home is rated as Extreme, the fire risk is extraordinarily high.
Below, you will see an example of the report that pulls information based on your address:
Some of the key factors in this report are:
- Distance from brush
- Fuel sources in your area
- If there have been fires in the area in the past
The closer you are to brush your home will begin to be rated a higher risk. If you have more fuel sources near your home, you will also be rated higher on the scale. If there have been fires in the area within the last few years, your home will also be considered a higher fire risk.
All things considered, we have helped many customers in each spectrum of the scale. From Negligent to Extreme, we have a solution and work with the best insurance providers to make sure you’re covered.
