If my car is stored in the garage wont my homeowner’s insurance cover it?

March 22, 2018 By

If your car is parked in your garage and there is a fire that causes damage to the car your homeowners insurance policy with NOT cover the loss to your car. In order for your car to be covered you must carry comprehensive physical damage coverage on your auto insurance policy.

The rule of thumb is, If it can be insured under a specific policy it needs to be, otherwise your personal property coverage on your home will not extend.
